Pratt Institute Drape and Construct I final project. The parameters for this assignment were set by the book Zero-Waste Fashion Design by Timo Rissanen & Holly McQuillan. Japanese Boro (like patchwork) inspired my initial designs. Alleged ghost sightings after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami served as thematic inspiration. Many ghosts were described as wearing soaked brown trench coats, hence the brown twill. The organdy represents the traditional sheet-white, translucent ghost. No fabric was wasted during this process. Modeled on a size 8 mannequin.
